NEWS... 09.28.09
Anne Frank will be honored at

Peter Wilhelm Art Center
1092 Budapest
Ráday utca 31/J.

You can view my own (the only one in existance) print of this illustration in person.
Don't miss the chance, as after the exhibition it is going back to my basement...
Thank you

In memory of Anne Frank, who died in Nazi concentration camp, Bergen-Belsen, April 1945, at the age of fifteen. Just few weeks before the British liberated it.

Even though Anne Frank is mostly known to represent jews who died in holocaust, in my mind she represents all the children of past and future who suffered and will horrors of war.

Here is another piece that I had done, Africa: [link] it is also dedicated to children of war. Check it out because whatever happened to Anne Frank is presently happening to children of Africa.

Thank you for all the favs and comments.

_Ann Frank_ by =neo2055 is not only beautiful, but also powerful in its message. Technically speaking, the perspective is well done, and the colors are perfect for the setting and mood. ( Suggested by baKIN and Featured by cosmosue )

Anne would not have had hair while wearing that prison uniform. But this is an amazing piece of work, and I 100% agree that Anne should stand for all children murdered in all Holocausts, not just Jews and not just this one.

Her father had the chance to take her to safety but he decided to stay and trade with the Germans. His greed killed his daughter. That's the saddest story for me. Poor girl

Sweet, sweet Anne...may her memory always be a blessing
Go2philv Featured By Owner Jul 9, 2015
Nice picture, but I think when she was at the Bergen-Belsen concentration camp, all of the hair from her head was shaved off.
neo2055 Featured By Owner Aug 24, 2015
it is an abstract image.
Go2philv Featured By Owner Aug 24, 2015
I know, but it would be more historically accurate if her head was shaven. Don't get me wrong I like the pic but I am a history major.
neo2055 Featured By Owner Sep 9, 2015
well, historically correct, jesus was not crusified on the cross, but most likely was lynched with the rope, yet jesus is on the cross......

this pic is a symbol somewhat similar to crucifixion. she died, so the story could have been told.
Go2philv Featured By Owner Sep 10, 2015
What is your source tat says Jesus was not crucified? The Roman historian Tacitus wrote that Jesus was crucified on behalf of Pontius Pilate.
neo2055 Featured By Owner Sep 11, 2015
lol i do not want to go into jesus debate. my depiction of anne frank is not historically correct.

my guess is that historian tacitus can not be trusted either.

do you remember what happened in Rome 100 years ago? If you can not recall it, then how can we have a debate of what supposedly happened 2000 years ago? If I told you a story. Then you tell that story to someone else. That someon else tells a story to someone else, so on... The last person will have an absolutely incorrect, distorted version of the first story. This is the fact, there is not a single document remains from exact date of jesus's crucifiction. All the document they provide are heresay.

I happen to be a history major and sometimes history is what is written. What you say sounds silly. What you are saying sounds something like how do I know if there was a George Washington? Evidence my friend. A story may not always be true, but the story may have some important morals. Why not trust Tacitus? I'd have to see evidence which suggests he has lied. As far as I know, there is no evidence which suggests that Tacitus lied about Jesus. You should also look up Josephus. You sound like an atheist.

lol, believe me, i am faaaaaaar from being an aitheist, i practice one the most orthodox buddhist schools. anyway, i do believe that jesus existed.

This really captures the emotion of the children in those days. The poor Jews. I've visited one camp auchwitz and it was really haunting

Your drawing is tragic and haunting at the same time, I can definitely feel the suffering that Anne had to gone through as a Jew during the WW2. I have read and watch the story of Anne Frank, her life story was so heart wrenching.

Rest in peace for Anne Frank and the other holocaust victims

the movie anne frank: the whole story gives you a good insight on their concentration lives, but I love your drawing of her. she looks absolutely miserable with only having Margot and being tragically torn from her dad and Peter. This makes me cry seeing her that way

When I saw that movie - I, a grown man - didn't just cry ... I was weeping!

May God help poor Anne in Heaven or wherever she is now. Lets hope that another Holocaust will never happen.

God bless Anne Frank. I hope she passed onto heaven when she died. If she haunts Auschwitz, I hope she is a kind ghost.

Awesome job on the art, by the way.

Oh my gosh I have to read this for school and it's so flippin' depressing. It's like "I can't believe you've done this :iconohgodwhyplz: "

i love this! It's so sad, what happened to neighbor lost a lot of family in the concentration camps. I feel ashamed that my family had been so anti-semetic during those awful times. She will forever be remembered.

hauntingly beautiful and breathtaking ! Actually frightened me a little at first glance. I read Anne Frank's touching Diary in seventh grade and it not only brought me to but also got me to learn more about the Holocaust and explore other stories of sadness, strength, and above all survival!
Great piece of art you have here!
